When a patient walks into Dermacare, they will be greeted by our friendly front office staff. Once you have signed in and everything is ready, the nurse practitioner will bring you back into the treatment room to start your lip filler. The filler is injected into the treatment site in small amounts by an ultrafine needle. Some patients may experience discomfort during the treatment, but most tolerate it quite well. A dental block (lidocaine injection), topical anesthetic, and fillers with added lidocaine are available for the patient’s comfort. The treatment usually lasts around 30-45 minutes. Patients will experience some swelling for 24-48 hours, but on the 3rd day they should see the full results of the filler.
