Articles in Category: Cheeks instead of smile lines

Today I had a client come in who wanted to do a filler in her smile lines, but when we looked together at her lines, they really weren't all that deep. They looked softer but not unnatural, and I did not want to give her the "horsey" look that some people get who keep adding fillers around the mouth until there is no definition left. Instead, we utilized the Allergan rebate and did two tubes of Voluma in her cheeks. She was scared to do it because she "didn't want to look like one of the Real Housewives," but I explained that most likely she is seeing fat injections in those cheeks and that Voluma is much more sublte. In fact, we started with just one tube, and after looking at her reflection, we decided one more would probably be just the look she was going for. I injected right in the apples of her cheeks, which gives the face a little more of a heart shape, and also indirectly lifts the smile lines slightly. The best part is that she has no bruising and she said it hurt less than Botox...which hardly hurts at all!
